21.09.2017 — Evgeny Pervyshov: 25 years of friendship between Krasnodar and Karlsruhe is a shining example of the successful Russian-German partnership

The official reception of the delegation of Karlsruhe-Krasnodar Friendship Association, which came to celebrate the City Day, was held in the administration of Kuban capital. The meeting was led by Mayor of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov and Chairwoman of the City Duma Vera Galushko.

"Our sister city relations are 25 years old this year, it's a quarter of a century. We have come a long way, and the relations between our cities continue to develop vigorously. Projects in the fields of medicine, education, sports and youth policy have been successfully implemented. There are internships of Krasnodar doctors in Karlsruhe, the exchange programmes for schoolchildren and students are being conducted. It is these contacts that allow us to better know and understand each other, to develop international relations," said Evgeny Pervyshov while opening the meeting.

This year the delegation of Friendship Association arrived in Krasnodar for the 10th time to celebrate the City Day. The delegation is headed by the Association Co-Chairman Herbert Huber.

"I thank the people of the city for their warm reception. After more than 20 years of my activities in the Association of Friendship, I can confidently say: Our relationship becomes stronger year by year. We are pleased to participate in the celebration of the City Day of Krasnodar. I'm confident of the success of all future projects and the development of friendly ties," said Herbert Huber.

The Association of Friendship of Karlsruhe-Krasnodar is led by Herbert Huber, Christa Koehler and Christian Friedrich. Joint projects in the sphere of medicine (internships of Krasnodar doctors, advanced training of nurses at the Karlsruhe City Clinic), education (internships of students of Kuban State University and Kuban State Technological University in City Hall and in the enterprises of Karlsruhe, exchange programmes between schoolchildren and students of Kuban State University and Walter Eucken Business School and Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium), as well as youth policy and sports (the participation of Krasnodar athletes in the annual rowing regatta for the Urban Enterprises Cup among sister-cities teams) have been implemented with the direct support of the co-chairs of the Friendship Association.
