Festive Christmas services were held in all Orthodox temples of Krasnodar

One of the most solemn and numerous divine services took place in St.Catherine Cathedral. Metropolitan of Yekaterinodar and Kuban Isidore held the Divine Liturgy. The Governor of Kuban Veniamin Kondratiev and the Mayor of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov together with parishioners kept vigil at night.

"In these holy and saving days of God, I wish all of you to enjoy the spiritual feast of the Great Christmas Holiday. Keep the peace, love among yourselves, be faithful in words and deeds, perform honestly Christian and civic duty, be tolerant and indulgent," addressed to parishioners metropolitan Isidore.

Several thousand citizens and guests of the regional center came to keep vigil in St.Catherine Cathedral. On the night from January 6th to 7th in Krasnodar festive Christmas services were held in churches, cathedrals and chapels of 49 Orthodox parishes.

The Nativity of Christ is one of the main Christian holidays. In the church calendar Christmas is followed by Christmastide, which lasts 12 days before the Eve of Theophany. During this time festive events will be held in the Orthodox parishes of Krasnodar.
