The regional capital entered the ISSC — the international club of smart cities. Krasnodar became one of the 8 cities in Russia, which were among the first to receive this status. The decision was announced on October 16 in the framework of forum "Open innovations" helding in Skolkovo (Moscow). The corresponding certificate was received by Deputy Mayor of the city Evgeny Zimenko.
"Joining the club of smart cities gives Krasnodar the opportunity to participate in federal programs, to receive funding for the introduction of new integrated technologies in the management of the city and municipal services. We'll get the opportunity to gain support in the implementation of projects that will help make Krasnodar more comfortable and convenient for life. The appropriate national development activities are provided in the framework of priority policies of the Ministry of Construction Industry, Housing and Utilities Sector of Russia," the Mayor of the city Evgeny Pervyshov commented on the receiving the new status.
Candidates for joining the Club from Russia were determined by the Ministry of Construction of Russia. In the future, it is planned that more than thirty Russian cities to enter the Club. At the first stage, the Ministry of Construction chose the first eight cities, including Krasnodar.
- Our city entered the International Smart Sustainable City Club for several reasons. We received a positive assessment due to the introduction of new modern technologies that help regulate the work of transport, the work of resource organizations. Of course, the most important thing for us is the experience of other cities and access to new technologies, which we get by joining the Club," said Deputy Mayor of the regional centre Evgeny Zimenko, who received a certificate of inclusion of Krasnodar in the the ISSC in the course of forum "Open innovations" helding in Skolkovo (Moscow).
International Smart Sustainable City Club (ISSC) is a voluntary non-profit organization founded by cities, research institutes and organizations which are interested in developing sustainable smart cities.
